Gadgets for Geeks to Drool Over

What is the ultimate wireless access point these days?

I've read enough bad reviews of the Linksys WRT600N to be completely turned off by it. I know the WRT54 is the normal workhorse. But I'm not really worried about the cost on this one. So if money was no object and you were just looking for the ultimate WAP which product would you go with?

honestly? WRT54Gv4 or previous version number.
Reload it with DD-WRT, opensource firmware for them.

it does everything I really need, and since my bottleneck is my internet connection speed anyways, what does it matter how fast my laptop can connect to the router?

Note: I don't do a lot of file transfers between my desktop and laptop, and the only real transfers I need to do are copying World of Warcraft patches between units. I usually end up copying it to my thumbdrive from my desktop, and installing it everywhere from there, since I update several friend's versions, too (they have crappy internet connections, or limited bandwidth).
